About Me

Well if you haven't noticed by now, my name is Eric Nakamoto (that's pronounced "Knock-ah-moto"). I was born and raised in Philly, PA (land of cheesesteaks, "Rocky," and the worst sports teams in the nation!). I graduated from the Art Institute of Philadelphia in 2005 with Honors and I'm 25. I've been freelancing ever since but now I'm actively pursuing full-time on-site work as a character modeler.

My freelance includes work on an as-yet unreleased independent film, directed by a senior artist at a prestigious vfx house in LA, as well as modeling and texturing landmarks for over 20 cities for Traffic.com. During this time I've been able to finetune both my organic and hard surface modeling skills. My knowledge of programs range from Maya (including "NEX" plugin), 3dsmax (CAT, CharacterStudio, Mental Ray, VRay, Brazil), Mudbox, Zbrush, TopoGun, PhotoShop, AfterEffects, Dreamweaver, etc.

If you'd like to contact me, please e-mail me here (eric@polymodeler.com).
